Lab Tech

I have a position available for a lab tech/lab manager. This person should have 2 years of lab experience in a Molecular Biology lab. This person will support ongoing projects in the lab as well as carry out basic lab management jobs.

Graduate Students

I am not taking any additional graduate students.

Undergraduate Students

Projects: Various projects related to ribosome biogenesis and transport using fluorescence microscopy, yeast molecular genetics and biochemical techniques.

Most molecular research is time and labor intensive. You should be willing to commit three long semesters and work 12-15 hrs/week. Research projects are not guaranteed to work the first time and sometimes not at all. Success depends on perseverance and hard work. But laboratory research can also be one of the most rewarding experiences you can have as an undergraduate. A number of students from my lab have been coauthors on papers and have gone to graduate school or medical school.
